ऐसा कहा जाता है कि लालू यादव कभी अगड़ी जाति के खिलाफ नारा लगाते थे भूरा बाल साफ करो. भूराबाल में भू भूमिहार से, रा राजपूत से, बा ब्राह्मण से और ल लिया गया था लाला यानी कायस्थ से. ऐसे नारों ने ऐसे जलवा दिखाया कि लालू बरसों से बिहार के पिछड़ों के मसीहा बनकर राजनीति में डटे हुए हैं. 

It is said that Lalu Yadav once used to raise a slogan against the upper caste, ‘clean the Bhurabal’.  In Bhurabal, Bhu was taken from Bhumihar, Ra from Rajput, Ba from Brahmin, and Lala i.e. Kayastha. Such slogans showed that Lalu has been in politics for years as the messiah of the backward people of Bihar.
